Here is a reading to help practice the verb "get". Get is used in many different ways, and they are shown in the two readings below. --- Yesterday I was studying math and I got angry because I didn’t get any of the questions. I decided I needed to get a math tutor. I called a tutor and he got to my house at about 7pm. Knock, knock on the door. I got up out of my seat and got the door. We studied math until 9pm. Then my tutor said it was getting late and he was getting hungry. I said I was hungry as well and we should go and get something to eat. We got to the restaurant at about 10. My tutor got chicken and I got pasta. Today my best friend is getting married. We got our tuxedos yesterday at the store and now we are getting dressed. The women are also getting ready, but of course they will take much longer. When we get to the church, we will have the ceremony. I imagine everyone will start to get very emotional because it is such a special day. I hope everything will be good for him. Most of my other friends who have gotten married have already gotten divorced! |
